This Pro Story
Hi my name is Randy Griffin - I am a lawn cut service operator and sole proprietorship owner of my business-
My main objective is to provide great lawn cut service for the typical lot size client- I am specifically focused on less than half acre properties and adjusted my equipment as necessary to reflect the demands of the typical lawn client-
Many of us typically live on a crowded street or the houses are relatively close so I use a trailer less system featuring a integrated ramp system which takes less space -
maybe your single gate prevents the other big setup lawn service from reaching the backyard- I use a commercial grade 36 inch wide unit so I have that covered
I typically work everyday of the week from 7:45am till 3:45pm- available weekends - please text me anytime - I service most residential properties either as one time or a schedule basis - thank you considering me for the jobs involved
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I got started about 5 years ago … it was always a dream to step away from working for a company and instead work for myself. I can provide one time service but prefer subscribed service appointments within a 15 mile radius from my residence. I was inspired simply observing small business owners in various fields that have a passion for the work..what we all want is quality work or a quality product and being customer friendly and as well as good communication skills. These are attributes I will strive for
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
I treat every yard as if it was my own and expect quality appearance standards on every stop but the key is communicating and always listen to the customer. I only use commercial grade equipment I also choose my equipment to be unobtrusive as possible while having the ability to fit in more gates than wider lawn machines. I am always a text or call away -text anytime and I’ll get back - I understand that clients simply want quality work, communication and reliability. Again, most lawn service providers utilize a trailer that sometimes creates access issues for them or others. You really don’t want a 35 foot long setup blocking the neighbors driveway on suburban streets. We all seen that nonsense when it’s clear all the trailer space is inefficiently used and blocks up driveways…what is more annoying than that in the morning? I instead utilize a unique integrated ramp system on my pickup truck which allows access into hard to access areas such as alleys or busy streets or smaller home communities. The setup allows me to feature a 36 inch commercial zero turn , plus a 21 inch walk-behind (if needed), blower, prograde edger, trimmers and more - This has been absolutely vital on some of my city routes.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
I am very eager and excited to be YOUR lawn care service provider- my goal is for you to be very happy with the service and earn your business. I do recommend a few things on your part to ensure expectations are met:- Most of the time (on maintained yards) I typically cut 2.5 to 3 inches on my own decision based on grass density, grass type, etc - let me know if a preference is desired I do not bag clippings- if you use a lawn fertilizer or use a lawn fertilization company to treat the lawn then choosing weekly service is often a must due to high growth. Please note grass clippings are beneficial to the lawn as long as it’s not excessive. I either mulch with my walk behind or side discharge with the zero turn Text anytime- I will answer and communication goes both ways If you have pets, please let me know - I typically give a heads up to every client when I will arrive a day before …But I will be especially diligent on communication for my clients with pets in the backyard to ensure that they have the opportunity to put them up. Frequency- I love weekly clients as well as biweekly clients- If you choose 10 days as a frequency-the issue is there is never a set day - it may be Sunday one week and then Wednesday the next week..please note on 10 day intervals, I may have to move a day before or after the designated day depending on my coverage area- The reason is I put jobs for specific days based on grouping adjacent zip codes like 37211 with 37135 …for example Wednesday I might be in 37211 and if a Murfreesboro 37128 client falls on that day it will be an excessive trip distance involved for my routes. In that example I may need to move the service day to Thursday. For all other weekly and bi weekly clients, your day will never be changed UNLESS rain or inclement weather occurs - If the day is changed due to weather conditions then I will make every attempt to put your day back the way it should as soon as possible on the following service. I typically have one designated rain day off per week and a couple of half day jobs to be able to move jobs as necessary if the situation arises Thanks so much for your business and I hope to earn your trust for the work involved
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
I love the work involved- Being outside with the ability to listen to sports radio or music while driving and seeing the quality results of the work involved. I love getting up early and going thru my routes… Scheduling can be a challenge mainly due to rain. Anything heavier than light rain or saturated conditions are typically days off ( mowing in the rain usually doesn’t end up looking as well) Delays are inevitable but I put communication as a absolute must - I can’t control the weather but I can control my effort- So of course part of effort is communication and I will do that if there is a delay - To best serve customers as efficiently as possible is important - less driving time also means more time that I can spend on the yard to ensure everything gets done right - Actual mowing season for middle Tennessee : My mowing work can begin as soon as early March or possibly extend into late November for some clients …the vast majority is in April till October- I do not offer mowing service in the months of December, January and February- This is considered the winter months for our area. mowing grass that is frozen or frosted can cause extreme damage to the grass, weakening or killing it. Not only that, but grass grows very slowly in temperatures below forty degrees, so it can't heal from this damage. Mowing frozen grass should be avoided at all times. Surprisingly I have had clients request for me to mow in all three of those months - Hours I set service hours typically from 7:30/8am till approximately 3 to 3:30pm- .
What areas do you mainly service?
most residential properties in these zip codes : 37211, 37135, 37130, 37128, 37129, 37086, 37167, 37013 Jobs with: access issues, large area excessive slope, unrestrained pets or excessive clutter or debris are NOT accepted and will be declined
