I am a native of the Tampa area, and I went to high school here at Plant High School in South Tampa in the Virginia Park neighborhood. After that I attended Florida State University and graduated in 1991, I worked for the state of Florida for awhile, and then after a stop through corporate america, I realized that it was my time to pursue my ambitions to start my landscaping company in Tampa, FL.
The inspiration came quicindentuialty when I was landscaping my own house that my wife and I recently built and I just took the leap of faith and started my lawn care company with a friend in the business. We started working together and after a year of building up our accounts to over 50 weekly lawn care clients we decided to split up and go our separate ways. From there my lawn care business just grew from word of mouth,. Right now we are doing 50 weekly lawns in the South Tampa area in neighborhoods such as , Hyde Park, Ballast Point, Beach Park and Palma Ceia.,
We are not big huge lawn company, as I find it's best to keep our lawn care service contained to one solid crew. In order to keep an eye on my lawn clients years, I like to stay lean so I can get to everything and maintain high level of lawn care detail.. Our service area extends from MacDill Air Force base to I-275 here in South Tampa. We do not offer lawn care in St Petersburg, we mainly focus on the South Tampa area.
The focus of my landscaping company in is the weekly lawn maintenance visits to keep everything nice and neat for our customers. Beyond the weekly or bi-weekly mowing we will replace plants , we will do some light trimming, such as anything we can reach from a pole saw. Also, we replace mulch, pine straw, and will do some light sprinkler repair work for our full service lawn care customers in South Tampa.
Our typical customer wants us to take care of everything, so we do. While we do not offer turf fertilization services (as it requires an entirely different licence in the City of Tampa), we will recommend a good solid local fertilization company. For example, I recommend Steve Humes , with Hume's Horticulture because he has a Horticulture degree and he is really good with organic lawn fertilization. I find that nobody is good at everything, so with him providing your turf fertilization and weed control and me providing your weekly lawn mowing and bed maintenance, that's a winning combination..
We provide year round lawn care for our South Tampa clientele. During the winter time we will clean up leaves and do projects for our core customer base. Here in South Tampa like in Hyde Park we can spend extra hour just picking leaves form the mature Oak trees that we have here. We have to bag up the leaves, as South Tampa just has tons of leaves from from the mature Grand Oaks that prominent in the area. Then after the leaves are done we will do some re-mulching work and some annuals like Pansies. We offer Cypress mulch and pine bark nuggets. I try to avoid the Cypress mulch because these days the factory will mix in some non organic stuff, and I try to recommend to people to pine bark mulch it more sustainable.
