I started my landscaping business in Atlanta 4 years ago when I relocated here from New Jersey. I operated a lawn care company there with a partner for for 13 years, and I came to Atlanta in search of a better quality of life and environment to raise my family. Looking back, I am glad I did , as the lawn care industry and the community of Atlanta have given me and my family just that, an opportunity to grow my lawn care business and also a safe environment for my children. .
I arrived in Atlanta with some equipment, some know how, and a strong worth ethic and that's all I needed. To get my landscaping company going here, I started off going door to door in south west Atlanta. Eventually, I saw a property management company sign for a rental home that had overgrown grass in the lawn , and I called the number and things took off from there. That one property management company kept us busy with a ton of lawns to mow, and they referred us to other property management companies that gave us work all over metro Atlanta.
Developing a deep business relationship with different property maintenance companies has also helped me expand my service area. My team mows lawns all over Atlanta both in the inner city inside the I-285 loop, and also in the outer suburbs of Atlanta. Our shop is in south west area of Atlanta right by Metropolitan College. We basically service lawns in all of Dekalb, Fulton, and Clayton counties,
Over the past 4 years I have been able to grow the business to up to 80 weekly customers. We are family run business and most days my older son helps me to keep up with the lawn work to make sure our customers stay satisfied. I really enjoy working with my children to show them proper work ethic. Lawn care work can be tough, and it's a great way to show my children the value of earning an honest living.
In addition to weekly lawn mowing, we will also do handyman services such as painting, sheetrock, and home repair . So if you need help with repairs around the home in Atlanta, we can help. Our property management clients use us for whole range of services.
I have found to the best way to grow my company, is to do solid, consistent and reliable work. Its amazing to me how much word of mouth just doing good lawn care service in Atlanta has brought me and my family. If you don't do a good job for a customer they will not want you to mow their lawn again, its that simple. You also have to be a people person in the landscaping business.=, at the end of the day this is just a people business with grass.
All in all I am fortunate to be in business for myself in the landscaping industry in Atlanta,. Its my dream to one day hand this business over to my family so they will always have a means to support themselves. I have a set of twins, one boy and one girl, an 11 year old daughter, a 6 year old and 4 year old, its my plan to teach each of them work ethic with our lawn care company that together we have built from scratch.
