Zeno and Katrina Crooks have moved all around the country. Zeno, now being retired from the United States Navy, and Katrina, who worked in the medical field, were always working in their own lawn meticulously making sure that it was always beautiful and manicured to perfection. One day, Katrina suggested to Zeno that as much as he is in the lawn, he might as well start his own landscaping business. So in 2012, he did just that and Specialty Green was officially started.  

Having moved from Norfolk, Virginia to Douglasville, Georgia in 2011, the couple will not be going anywhere for a while. "We have our entire family here now and we have fallen in love with the area, the people, and the community."

Specialty Green mows grass in East Point, Georgia, Fairburn, Villa Rica, Austell, Hiram, Carrolton, Dallas, Fairburn, and Union City.  "We provide service to all of the communities in the SW Atlanta region," Katrina says. 

Zeno and Katrina have amassed over 200 customers and also service many commercial properties in SW Atlanta including several medical and office buildings.

Being detailed with their work and listening to customers is what Zeno believes has led him to his success. "Me and my wife are very detail oriented and we do exactly what the customer wants," Crooks explains. "We will ask detailed questions on what the customer is expecting and will not leave a property until the customer is happy."

Specialty Green will not only handle your regular lawn cutting needs but they will also handle your shrub and bush trimming, mulching, fall cleanups including leaf removal, gutter cleaning, low level tree trimming, aerating, trash removal, and fertilization.

When asked what drew him to this industry, Zeno replied, "I love seeing a finished product." He adds, "Mowing puts me in a tranquil state and I enjoy just being outside and making people happy." My wife and I love seeing the finished product and sharing the happiness with our homeowners."

When Zeno is not out keeping his customer happy, you can find him fishing. He loves to frequent Lake Oconee, Lock Dam, and Lake Allatoona to get his fishing in. He also loves spending time with his son, Ahmad, who also helps out when he is not attending classes at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.

Katrina and Zeno also love to visit Gumbeaux s Cajun Café on E Broad Street in Douglasville and also Pampas Steakhouse in Alpharetta, Georgia.
