I just bought this house, it was vacant for 3 months. The yard was cut prior to closing, but, there was nothing done to the flower beds. I do not have a green thumb and need help to get the yard to a low maintenance, manageable level.
It’s only the back yard not the front yard which it taken care by the HOA. Backyard is small to medium size.

We have a gate in backyard but no lock on it.
The dogs will always be inside when you mow. Make sure the gate is fully closed after mowing the backyard. Would like to get mulch and tree trimming done after the first mow and maybe some resoding.
If i'm not home and the gate on the left is locked, go to the right gate. The code is 184, you will be able to walk around to the other gate and open it.
