How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
Hello, I'm Ed Owner/Operater of Roll Dawg Lawn Care LLC. This is my 5th year in business for myself, but have 25 years exoerience. I grew up on a farm in western Powhatan county so I got an early start bush hogging fields at the age of 9. It's my true passion to make your property look amazing! When you have downtime, I want you to be able to truly enjoy your lawn and landcaping I'm about quality of work over quantity of clients. I make sure to devote the necessary time in to your lawn and pay attention to the details, such as the perfect cut, straight and uniformed edging, as well as a thorough clean up. Others rush through and don't train their helpers enough. This can lead to accidents and missed areas. Going to fast with the mowers/trimmers can do more damage than good. To most lawn businesses your just another $1. Not me...You have my full attention. I listen and want your expectations not only met, but far exceeded! I have many loyal clients that will back me up on that! You won't be disappointed. If you are, I'll make it right...I guarentee that!
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
I think communication is huge in this business. Being on the same page is everything. That's how everything comes together. I feel like I excel in that area. I also am all about quality over quantity. Not trying to hate on anyone😉 but some companies are more about how many they can cut in a day. Faster faster faster...I'm not slow but I've learned how to take the time needed and don't cut corners. Every yard deserves my attention to detail and focus. If I need to stay on a property a little longer to make sure it's done right, than I will. I wouldn't have any clients if I rushed all my yards. Every aspect of cutting your lawn is done with care and expertise. 100% focus on my lines, trimming height, uniform edges, and thorough clean up...
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Ask about experience. Make sure a provider has a passion for doin̈g this and will take care of your lawn as if it his/her own. Be licensed. Also they be respectful and courteous at all times to you, your family, friends, and the property. They should be listening, not talking more than you. A great provider will always go the extra mile. What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
Before I had my own business I used to think, man there are so many lawn care companies that the industry has to be over saturated. Boy was I wrong! There is enough properties for everyone and then some! I like the freedom it gives me, being outside, and not in place everyday. Everyday is different which brings it's own challenges and I like that. A lot of people may not understand that it's not just mowing grass. Their is the whole business side of estimates, sales, scheduling, paper work, vehicle and equipment maintenance, rain days come with rescheduling, lots of texts and calls, etc, but like I said, I like the challenge of it. I've learned so much and keep on learning. I also get to meet and interact with some amazing people!! I love my clients, but they become more than that. They become friends and family of the Roll Dawg experience! It doesn't get much better than that!
