This Pro Story
Once upon a time, a Father and his kids decided to help bring beauty to the world - one blade o' grass at a time. "Children, the first order of business: a business name," the father said. "Yard Cut," the girl child quickly declared. "Yard cut, ... factory," the eldest boy child added. "Yes, overgrown yards go in and beautiful yards come out. Boom!" the Father agreed.
And they all lived happily ever after.
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I was mentored by a colleague and in 2017 I open my own business. I love transforming lawns as well as maintenance. I enjoy being outdoors and even though I spent my days outside, my family and I often hit state parks or the river on the weekend.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
Of course, we are running a professional business but we have never forgotten our principles. ; family comes first; leave every situation better than we found it; the world is generally a good place, so we should act accordingly; give more than we receive; if happiness is a choice, we choose to choose it. These beliefs are reflected in the services we provide.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
My best advice is to watch out for the fly by nights and low ballers. Our rates are affordable and if we lowered them much more it would hurt our production. We search for ways to keep our operating costs as low as possible so that we can pass our savings on to our customers.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
I love seeing the difference in the before and after of the work we do. I love that I can provide a service for folks that don't have the time, don't have the desire, or don't have the skill to produce the appearence of a professionalIy maintained lawn. I love the outdoors. I love being able to show my children that we can follow our dreams.
