Needing your Lawn Cut?
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I've been in this industry for over thirty years total and have done everything related to it, and mastered a few. My plant identification is superior with everything from ornamental shrubs, trees, and turf. I can spot insect damage to ornamentals when parking my vehicle. I studied Ornamental Horticulture and Botany for two years, and have two certifications through The Maryland Department of Agriculture that I will be reactivating in October of this year. One is a certification in Turf and the other in Ornamental Tree and Shrub. My MDA # is 18530 and I've had it since 1995 with no complaints. Currently, I'm very excited about the course I signed up for at Oregon State University that offers a Permaculture Design certificate. Permaculture, which means "permanent agriculture" has been around since 1970 and is filled with concepts and designs that are more sustainable for the environment by using native plants and grasses, just as a short description. To me, and having been in this field since the early 90's after serving as an Infantryman on the DMZ in South Korea and with the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY permaculture is the way landscaping designs and architects should have been doing things in the field. Instead, Bill Mollison had his worked buried until recently where it is gaining momentum as more people come to realize the bad situation our surroundings are in. Contact me anytime and I'd be more than happy to come out and discuss any of your concerns, ideas and visions for your property and not only enhancing it's curbside appeal but also turning it into it's very own self sustainable environment starting with storm water run off management, all the way to attracting pollinators back to your area by using the correct native plants in the landscape. Thank you for your time and I honestly do hope to hear from you.
