They damaged my siding in 2 places, said they would fix it and never did. I would attach pictures and screenshots if I could, but the best I can do is copy/paste the text messages that were sent/received. 7/7/**** Me: Hey there, whoever came out to do my lawn today put holes in my siding in 2 different places while they were edging. I know it happens sometimes and I’ve never really been too bothered by it when it’s at the very bottom, but one of the holes is 3 or 4 panels up and the other one is just very visible right beside my back door. Debbie Does It: I am sorry that happened. We can have it repaired in house for ya. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Me: Ok, sounds good…any idea when someone will be able to come do the repairs? Debbie Does It: In all honesty, if it's not a huge deal, early next week. We tend to stay pretty busy on the home care side Me: Ok, that’s fine…thanks! Debbie Does It: No worries, thanks for your patience 7/16/**** Me: Hey there, just wanted to follow up about my siding? Debbie Does It: I am sorry. I was trying to forget ya. I will get you on our home care schedule when I get back in the office and let ya know when to expect them 7/18/**** Me: Following up again about when my siding will be fixed? I thought I was supposed to be put on the schedule for early this week? 7/24/**** Me: Hello again, I'm sorry to keep bothering you about this but I need my siding fixed as soon as possible. If you aren't able to handle it in house then I will need to have it repaired by someone else and then be reimbursed or have the bill forwarded to you. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Thank you! Debbie Does It: No, you have every right too. I'll have someone out tomorrow to get ya taken care of. Thanks again for your patience Me: Great, thank you 7/28/**** Me: No one showed up on Friday. 7/29/**** Me: I have been beyond patient. At this point, if my siding can't be fixed by the end of this week I am going to have to explore what other options I have to get this taken care of. There were no other texts sent or received after that. The lawn service itself was generally fine, just your basic mowing, edging, and blowing off hard surfaces. I continued to use them through the fall because I felt like it would be difficult to find another business with availability mid-summer. I will definitely not be using Debbie Does It again and am looking for a new lawn service. I probably would have continued to use them if they had actually followed through with repairing my siding like they said they would. I just wanted to relay my experience for anyone who chooses to use this company.

We've been in the business for two years now, but we never intended to be a lawn care maintenance contractor. We started as a parking lot sweeping company, and we had to lay off some workers. Through a bit of luck and not wanting to lay our people off we ended up growing into the lawn care company we are. We both still work full time jobs and use Debbie Does It as a way to help young entrepreneurs get their foot in the door of the lawn care business.
We're a small, family owned and operated company that reflects small, hometown values. We're honest, upfront and stand by our work. We go through growing pains like everyone else and I'd be lying if I said every customer had an outstanding experience, every time ... but ... I can say that we go through extraordinary means to ensure that our customers get what they paid for.
That depends on the type of customer you are. About 1/3 of the customers we get just want to keep the city from writing them tickets for their grass being too high. If you're willing to put up with the aggravation of booking a different contractor every time you want it cut and praying they show up to save $10 then anyone will do and you might even be able to get your Neighbor's child to do it. About 1/2 of our customers are just normal people that have a busy life and neither the time nor the want to and/or equipment to do it yourself. I mean, let's face it, anyone can cut grass but not everyone can afford the $2,500 in yard equipment it takes to make a lawn look professionally done. If you're one of those guys, don't go with the first guy ya see, shop around a little. Finaly about 1/5 of our customer's expectations don't match their pocketbooks. If you're one of those guys just knock it off and it would make everyone's life easier.
I like the simplicity of it and the joy it brings. There's nothing like laying down in a nice, clean, made bed at night and pulling up to a neat and orderly lawn after a long day's work gives almost the same satisfaction. At the end of the day, we're making lives better, one yard at a time.
