When I first booked bi-weekly cuts with Darnell, he reached out via text to let me know that he was going to start cutting my grass the next day. I responded saying that sounded good. About 20 mins later, I get a text that my first cut will actually be $100 (agreed to a price of $35 per cut when I booked him). I told him that I had just gotten my last cut a week ago and it wasn't long and I also expressed that I don't like to get the grass cut too short. I asked if we could meet tomorrow to chat and discuss the price before he completes my cut. Darnell responded right after and said the grass is already cut. What? I don't hear from him again and he continues to cut my grass every other week but I notice the poor quality and choose to let it go. Finally, after about a month of cuts, he texts me and says "just letting you know you have two options, weekly service or new provider". I have always gotten bi-weekly cuts and it has never been an issue but at that point, I was already thinking about asking him to go weekly because I felt like he wasn't happy that I wasn't already doing weekly cuts; since the quality of the work was consistently never great. So we switch to weekly cuts. Well, he cut my grass last week and then today, one week later, he cuts it again and the work is poor and just sloppy, again! Still, after switching to weekly cuts? So I message him and let him know that I've noticed that the cuts have not been great and that several spots while mowing are just being missed. So there are patches of uncut grass throughout my lawn. I also tell him that he's running over the soil around my newly planted trees and ask if he could be careful with cutting around the trees and if all the lawn could be cut without missing spots, it would be greatly appreciated. He responds and says that that's why the weekly cuts are needed and that the next service will show the difference. Okay, but today's cut was a week after my last cut? Instead, I respond and ask how missing sections of the grass while mowing has anything to do with switching to weekly cuts. Instead of responding and saying, my bad and I'll make sure I don't miss any spots next week, Darnell responds and says "due to the lawn being overgrown, I would have to cut the lawn twice, which you refuse to pay long grass fee which is fine by me." I've finally had it and canceled all future cuts.
